Areas of application
BORNIT® Unibit serves as protective and waterproofing coating for concrete, plaster and masonry against ground moisture (not for building structure waterproofing according to DIN 18533) as well as topcoat upon restoration of bituminous roof membranes. Furthermore, BORNIT® Unibit is used for protection against moisture on concrete elements (shafts, channels, etc.) in the area in contact with the ground. Not suitable for corrugated bituminous sheets.
BORNIT® Unibit can be used diluted with water 1:2 as adhesion-improving primer for all BORNIT® bitumen emulsion products as well as undiluted as primer for BORNIT® BORNIthene Plus.

Advantages
- easiest handling, since manufactured ready for use
- universally applicable, thus numerous uses
- free from solvents, hence environmentally friendly
- economical and cost-cutting, due to low equipment and material costs and effort
Surface
The substrate must be firm, clean and free from separating substances (oils, greases, etc.). It may be slightly moist, but not wet. In case of highly absorbent substrates, prime with BORNIT® Grundbit.
Processing
BORNIT® Unibit is delivered ready for use.
Topcoats must be applied undiluted. For that, at least 2 coats are recommended. The second coat is applied after sufficient surface drying of the first one.
The product is applied with a moistened coating broom or brush, resp., or airless spraying equipment.
Clean the respective processing equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can be removed with BORNIT® Bitumen Cleaner.
For use as a primer, BORNIT® Unibit is diluted 1:2 with fresh tap water under stirring and mixed well with a mechanical stirrer.
BORNIT® Unibit must only be applied in dry weather and under no circumstances in case of frost or rain or impending rain, resp.
