Areas of application
BORNIT® Bitumen 100/25 is used for hot-bonding various bituminous substrates, such as bituminous roofing membranes, raw felt sheets and insulation materials designed for hot-bonding, primarily in roofing applications. Before application to mineral substrates, a primer coat of BORNIT® Bitumen Primer must be applied.
Type and properties
BORNIT® Bitumen 100/25 is an unfilled adhesive compound made from petroleum bitumen. Special processes have been used to increase its plasticity to such an extent that all standard bonding tasks encountered on a building site can be carried out without difficulty.
Surface
The surface should be dry, dust-free, grease-free and stable.
Processing
It is essential to monitor the temperature using a thermostat and to stir the contents of the melting tank to prevent localised overheating of the material. Once the working temperature has been reached, the adhesive is spread evenly between the substrates to be bonded using a broom or brush.
Consumption
approx. 1.3 kg/m² with an adhesive layer of 1 to 1.5 mm
