BORNIT® Triangle Tape
Bitumen | Roof area | Foundation area | Fillet | permanently elastic

Short information
- Fast, reliable sealing of the coving in the foundation and roof area
- Waterproof and permanently elastic in connection with bitumen thick coatings, cold self-adhesive or welding strips
- No waiting time for follow-up work, as it sticks in the throat immediately after being caught in a flame
- Problem-free connection of the cross-sectional seal (wall barrier) to the vertical seal
Consumption
1 m per linear meter
Storage note
- Not sensitive to frost! Keep cardboard packaging dry!
- in originally sealed containers 12 months

Areas of application
BORNIT® Triangle Tape is suitable for the quick and safe formation of fillet welds in the transition area between components standing at right angles to one another (e.g. between floor slab and rising wall before welding and cold self-adhesive sheets as well as PMBC) and for sealing edge joints and unevenness between precast concrete elements.
Priming with BORNIT® Bitumen Primer, BORNIT® Grundbit or BORNIT® Basement Primer is recommended.

Type and properties
BORNIT® Triangle Tape is a fusible and highly flexible elastomer-bitumen tape for secure and easy joint sealing and fillet formation in building construction and civil engineering. BORNIT® Triangle Tape is elastic, ageing-resistant and easy to apply.
Using BORNIT® Triangle Tape, there is no waiting time (drying time) between fillet formation and sealing, since a watertight welded connection is formed with the substrate immediately after cooling.

Advantages
- faster work progress due to short drying times
- easy to process
Surface
The substrate must be firm, clean, dry and free from any loose particles or separating substances. In order to achieve good adhesion and secure fusion of the tape with the substrate, priming with BORNIT® Bitumen Primer or BORNIT® Basement Primer, resp., is recommended. This is usually also applied for the subsequent surface sealing and is brushed on or sprayed on with good coverage.
Processing
Note: Especially solvent-containing primers (e.g. BORNIT® Bitumen Primer) must be completely dry and flashed off prior to applying BORNIT® Triangle Tape!
Lay out BORNIT® Triangle Tape and cut to length. In the corner area, the tape can be cut to mitre, as required. Butt joints are connected by fusion. Subsequently fuse the attachment surface of the tape at one end with a propane gas flame over approx. 30 cm and firmly press on the tape immediately. Once this first attachment has cooled down, evenly heat the tape in the fillet until the surface melts and continuously press it into the molten pool. Finally, if necessary, apply the flame across the tape once again for fusing the edges until secure fusion with the substrate becomes apparent.
In case of a mitre cut in the corner area, pay attention to good adhesion of the abutting edges!
Subsequent work can be started after only a few minutes (cooling down of the fusion).

Profile tolerances up to 10 % are due to production technology!
