BORNIT^® Joint Fabric Tape

Areas of application

BORNIT^® Joint Fabric Tape is a supplementary product for waterproofing of buildings with thick bitumen coatings (BORNIT^® 1K (Thick Bitumen Coating), 2K (Thick Bitumen Coating), 2K Flex (Thick Bitumen Coating), Repabit, etc.) for flexible and waterproof bridging of building joints. Furthermore, it can be used as an insert in corner and fillet areas at risk for cracks upon laying tiles.

Type and properties

BORNIT^® Joint Fabric Tape is a flexible bridging tape for critical areas. It is a polyester fabric with a waterproof rubber coating as its centre strip.

Advantages

Processing

First, the material used for waterproofing of the building is applied right up to joint to be bridged, and then BORNIT^® Joint Fabric Tape is immediately applied and fixed fresh on fresh. Following drying of the coating, the same waterproofing material is used once again to cover the edges of the fabric and at least 1 cm of the rubber coating from both sides, so that a continuous waterproofing layer results. Please observe the applicable notes on processing and technical rules for waterproofing of joints when using the various waterproofing materials.

Storage

The tape must be stored in a dry place, protected from direct solar irradiation.

Disposal note

Only recycle completely empty containers. Material residues can be disposed of according to AVV-ASN: 200139 (plastics).
