BORNIT® Silo Coating protects concrete, masonry, plasters, wood and metals from penetrating water and thus from destruction and corrosion. BORNIT® Silo Coating is an acid-proof, well covering protective coating against aggressive wastewater as well as numerous chemical substances, like lyes, organic acids and salts.
BORNIT® Silo Coating is applied in industrial silos. In liquid manure, slurry and silage effluent plants as well as biogas storage and filling plants, we recommend BORNIT® Siloflex.
For better adhesion to concrete, masonry or plaster, use BORNIT® Silo Primer for priming.

BORNIT® Silo Coating is a cold spreadable and sprayable bitumen coating, which after thorough drying forms a water-impermeable, closed bitumen coat with high plasticity and thermal resistance.

BORNIT® Silo Coating adheres to all substrates common in construction. The substrate must be dry, clean, free from grease, and free from separating agents. Fresh concrete must have cured for at least 28 days. Deposits, like concrete grout or chalking must be removed with suitable measures, as for example sandblasting. Until thorough drying, the coating must be protected from rain and strong solar irradiation.
During the construction phase, no water must penetrate between substrate and coating. Loose components must be removed and voids repaired. Mineral and untreated substrates must be primed with BORNIT® Silo Primer (approx. 0.2 l/m²).

BORNIT® Silo Coating is spreadable and sprayable without dilution. Stir up BORNIT® Silo Coating prior to processing! For first-time coating or highly exposed surfaces, 3 topcoats are required. Upon application of several coats, let every layer dry thoroughly, the drying time depends on the weather. The processing temperature (ambient and substrate temperature) should not be below +5 °C and not above +35 °C. The final resilience is only achieved after complete and thorough hardening (complete evaporation of the solvent). Only use in well-ventilated outdoor areas and observe the current version of the Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances (TRGS).

Only recycle completely empty containers. Material residues can be disposed of according to AVV-ASN: 080409* (adhesive and sealing compound residues containing organic solvents or other hazardous substances).
