Areas of application
BORNIT® Trapezium Tape is suitable for sealing edge joints and irregularities between precast concrete elements, manhole rings of supply and maintenance shafts, etc., as well as for the easy formation of fillet joints beneath bituminous waterproofing membranes at corner connections and upstands in building and roofing applications.
Type and properties
BORNIT® Trapezium Tape is a fusible and highly flexible elastomer-bitumen tape for secure and easy joint sealing and fillet formation in building construction and civil engineering.
Advantages
- faster work progress thanks to closed drying times
- easy to process
Surface
The surface must be firm, clean, dry and free of loose parts or separating substances. To achieve good adhesion and secure fusion of the tape with the substrate, a primer with BORNIT® Bitumen Primer or BORNIT® Grundbit is recommended. This is usually also to be used for the subsequent surface sealing and is painted or sprayed to give a good coverage.
Processing
Lay out BORNIT® Trapezium Tape and cut to length. In the corner area, the tape can be cut to mitre, as required. Fuse the attachment surfaces of the tape with a propane gas flame and press on immediately.
In case of a mitre cut in the corner area, pay attention to good adhesion of the abutting edges! The underside of the trapezoidal tape is covered with an easily fusible film, which melts and dissolves when the tape is welded in place.

Profile tolerances up to 10 % are due to production technology!
