Areas of application
BORNIT® 5M-Primer is designed for the pre-treatment of bitumen layers to be applied hot as well as for laying roofing membranes and welded sheeting. BORNIT® 5M-Primer adheres to concrete, masonry, plaster and almost all other substrates common in construction as well as to grease-free metal.
BORNIT® 5M-Primer is not suitable for application on expanded and extruded polystyrene.
Note: According to Circular 11/05 of the German Building Trade Association (Bau-BG), emulsion-based bitumen primers (e.g. BORNIT® Speedbit-Primer) are expressly recommended for work indoors!

Type and properties
BORNIT® 5M Primer is a fast-drying, solvent-based bitumen primer that can be applied by brush or spray. BORNIT® 5M Primer is used when short drying times are required in order to ensure rapid progress with the work.

Surface
The substrate must be dry, clean and free of frost and grease. Loose components, damaged concrete and plaster areas as well as cracks and holes must be repaired beforehand.
Processing
The substrate must be dry, clean, frost-free and free from grease. Loose particles, defective concrete and plaster as well as cracks and holes must be removed or repaired, resp., in advance.
BORNIT® 5M-Primer is applied by brushing, rolling or spraying it onto the substrate. Only perform subsequent work after complete and thorough drying! BORNIT® 5M-Primer is manufactured ready for use.
Do not apply indoors! For the indoor area (e.g. floor sealing with welded sheeting), we recommend the solvent-free bitumen primer BORNIT® Speedbit-Primer.

Storage
BORNIT® 5M-Primer must be stored cool and dry. The product is not sensitive to frost! In the originally sealed container storable for 12 months.
Keep the material away from ignition sources.
Disposal note
Only recycle completely empty containers. Material residues can be disposed of according to AVV-ASN 080409* (adhesive and sealing compound residues containing organic solvents or other hazardous substances).
