Areas of application
BORNIT® Corrosion Preventer is suitable as a corrosion protection coating material for waggon undercarriages, bridges and steel structures. BORNIT® Corrosion Preventer reliably protects concrete, masonry, plaster and metal from diluted, non-oxidising acids, flue gasses and vapours, e.g. in the chemicals and textiles industries.
Type and properties
BORNIT® Corrosion Preventer is a bitumen-based sealing and finishing material protecting surfaces from corrosion.
Advantages
- high penetrating capability into the substrate
- easiest handling, since manufactured ready for use
- universally applicable, therefore numerous uses
- good adhesive properties due to white spirit content
- low equipment and material costs and effort
Surface
The substrate must be clean, dry, rust- and grease-free. Use BORNIT® Bitumen Primer for priming.
Processing
BORNIT® Corrosion Preventer is spreadable and sprayable without dilution. Stir up BORNIT® Corrosion Preventer prior to processing! It is recommended to apply two coats. The processing temperature (ambient and substrate temperature) should not be below +5 °C and not above +35 °C.

In originally sealed containers storable for 12 months. The product is not sensitive to frost!
Disposal note
Only recycle completely empty containers. Material residues can be disposed of according to AVV-ASN: 080409* (adhesive and sealing compound residues containing organic solvents or other hazardous substances).
