Areas of application
BORNIT® Roof Varnish is a bitumen solution with high penetration capacity and thus optimally suited for regenerating weathered bitumen roof coverings. BORNIT® Roof Varnish is also used as a protective layer directly after the roof covering has been laid. BORNIT® Roof Varnish is also suitable for protecting structures made of concrete, bricks or plastered surfaces against ground moisture. BORNIT® Roof Varnish is not suitable for corrugated bitumen sheets.
Type and properties
BORNIT® Roof Varnish is a solvent-containing, brush- and sprayable bitumen-based coating. The bitumen roof coating is suitable for the initial coating as well as for maintenance and renovation of roofing membranes, welded membranes (except polymer bitumen membranes) and other bituminous coverings.
Advantages
- good coverage already after the first coat
- very easy handling, because it is ready to use
- universal use, therefore a wide range of application possibilities
- good adhesion due to white spirit content
- economical and cost-saving, as little equipment, material and labour is required
Surface
The substrate must be dry, clean and free of grease. BORNIT® Roof Varnish adheres to all common building substrates. For heavily weathered and chalking, mineral substrates, prime with BORNIT® Bitumen Primer.
Processing
BORNIT® Roof Varnish is ready for use. BORNIT® Roof Varnish must be stirred before application! During application, ensure that the ambient and substrate temperature does not exceed +35 °C! Two coats are recommended.
Consumption
approx. 0.4 l/m² per coat (2 coats recommended)
