areas of application
For drill-hole injection for subsequent waterproofing in masonry, concrete and plaster against rising and creeping moisture. Applicable on the inside and on the outside. The deeply effective injection agent is also used for renovation and material solidification in masonry and concrete walls.
Use of the injection agent is possible up to degrees of moisture penetration of max. 65 % and a max. wall thickness of 0.70 m.

type and properties
BORNIT® Injektil Super is a liquid, water-thin injection agent based on a water-repellent siliconate with silicifying (construction material solidifying) properties.
The active agents penetrate deeply into the substrate by gravity and react with the existing binding agents into water-insoluble compounds. The capillary pore structure of concrete and masonry is closed and rendered water-repellent. With the chemical-physical petrifaction process, beside the moisture barrier introduced vertically or horizontally, the stability of concrete and masonry is increased and an additional protection against aggressive substances achieved. BORNIT® Injektil Super does not damage reinforcement steel.Contrary to other non-pressurised injections, small drill-hole diameters are sufficient for BORNIT® Injektil Super, since the holes cannot become encrusted due to permanent seepage of the liquid.
The practical 0.55 kg cartridge with the integrated injection hose provides control of the quantities consumed per drill-hole. In order to avoid losses of BORNIT® Injektil Super, the use of BORNIT® Filling Sticks (length: 45 cm) is recommended. Therewith, a uniform and targeted distribution of BORNIT® Injektil Super in the construction material is achieved. Cavities and cracks are bridged. Easy handling without special equipment characterises the BORNIT® Injektil Super method.

advantages
- easiest handling, since manufactured ready for use
- very good penetrating capability
- economical and cost-cutting, due to low equipment and material costs and effort
surface
Should fractures, voids or open joints be noticed after drilling the holes, the holes must be filled with a drill-hole suspension, wherein the thin liquid mortar must be pressed in. Prior to thorough hardening (after approx. 30 minutes to max. 3 hours), the holes must be drilled again. Upon using BORNIT® Filling Sticks, filling with a drill-hole suspension can be omitted in many cases. The soaked filling sticks can remain in the drill-hole after saturation of the construction material with BORNIT® Injektil Super.
processing
For horizontal waterproofing, holes with a diameter of 12-16 mm are drilled above ground level or, upon excavation, above the basement floor, at an angle of approx. 40 ° downward down to approx. 5 cm from the end of the wall, with a distance of 7-12 cm from one another, respectively offset towards the top or bottom, resp. If BORNIT® Filling Sticks are used, a diameter of 14 mm is sufficient and appropriate. The horizontal joints should be intersected. The treatment can be optionally performed on the inside or on the outside. With wall thicknesses over 50 cm, it is recommended to drill the holes from both sides towards the centre. For distances of the drill-holes and diameters, see table.
The drill-holes are cleaned and rinsed with water. Thereafter, insert BORNIT® Injektil into the drill-holes as shown in the drawing.

Consumption depends on the absorbency of the masonry and can thus, in individual cases, deviate considerably from the quantities given. In case of strong absorbency of the construction material, the distance between the drill-holes can be extended, with lesser absorbency reduced. After 1-5 days, once saturation has been achieved, the cartridges must be removed and the drill-holes closed with cement mortar (possible coordinated in colour) or with a drill-hole suspension. Not yet empty cartridges can be reused in other locations.
If the plaster is salt-damaged, it should be knocked off after the treatment and replaced with BORNIT® Renovation Plaster.
Structurally damaging salts must be deactivated with BORNIT® Anti Sulphate. Do not apply at temperatures below +5 °C.
Distance of the drill-holes
Important note
The silicification process starts after a few days. Several months could pass until completion of the silicification. Thereafter, the visible drying off of the construction material starts, since no water can penetrate anymore. For facade treatment, it must be observed in any case, that no moisture can penetrate from the side, e.g. by driving rain.
Modes of action and methods are described in the WTA datasheet 4-4-04/D “Masonry injections against capillary moisture”, including the required accompanying measures.
