Areas of application
In connection with cement and sand, BORNIT® Stick Emulsion serves producing bonding bridges between mineral construction materials, such as masonry, plaster, concrete and screed. Furthermore, using BORNIT® Stick Emulsion, mineral construction materials can be made more flexible, their water absorption can be reduced, their resistance to frost and de-icing salt and their resilience to aggressive substances can be improved, as well as the formation of shrinkage cracks reduced. Adding BORNIT® Stick Emulsion to BORNIT® Slurry SF achieves product flexibilisation, smoother processing and better adhesion to the substrate.
BORNIT® Stick Emulsion serves as a primer (diluted with water up to 1:1) for pre-treatment of the substrate for waterproofing with BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C.

Type and properties
BORNIT® Stick Emulsion is a versatile, aqueous, plasticiser- and solvent-free dispersion based on butadiene-styrene latex for modifying cement-containing mortar compounds, plasters and slurries.
Furthermore, BORNIT® Stick Emulsion can be used as a primer for waterproofing with BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C. Due to its non-ionic stabilisation, the product is compatible with all common standard cements.

Surface
The substrate must be clean, stable and free from separating substances. Remove dust, contaminations, loose particles and standing water prior to processing.
Processing
As a primer for BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C:
Apply BORNIT® Stick Emulsion diluted with water up to 1:1 using a large or small brush or a roller. After drying of the stick emulsion – drying time at +20 °C approx. 3 hours - BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C can be applied.
As an additive to BORNIT® Slurry SF, mortars, plasters and concrete:
Add 10 to 20 % of BORNIT® Stick Emulsion to the mixing water. Mortar and concrete must be prepared with a plastic consistency according to applicable DIN regulations.
For cement-based bonding bridges:
Mix BORNIT® Stick Emulsion with water 1:2, stir into a slurry with a cement/sand mixture (1:2) and apply with a firm or broad brush. Apply plaster and screed whilst the slurry is still wet. As a cement-based bonding bridge for waterproofing materials, a drying period of at least 24 hours is required.

Storage
In closed containers, cool, but frost-free, the product can be stored for approx. 2 years. Firmly re-seal opened containers. The latex has a slight tendency to creaming, therefore, after longer storage, it should be stirred up prior to use. The upper storage temperature should not exceed +35 °C.
Disposal note
Only recycle completely empty containers. Material residues can be disposed of according to AVV-ASN: 070208 (other reaction and distillation residues).
