areas of application
BORNIT® Silo Primer is a water-repellent primer, especially developed for the application of BORNIT® Silo Coating, with good adhesion to concrete, plaster, masonry or metal. BORNIT® Silo Primer is characterised by intensive pore wetting and dust binding of the substrate.

type and properties
BORNIT® Silo Primer is a spreadable and sprayable, solvent-containing bitumen primer. Due to its low viscosity and its high penetrating capability, BORNIT® Silo Primer solidifies the substrate, binds dust and loose particles, compensates for different absorbencies of the substrate and serves as bonding agent for subsequent sealing with BORNIT® Silo Coating. Tested according to AIB.

  • high penetrating capability into the substrate
  • easiest handling, since manufactured ready for use
  • good adhesive properties, quick-drying
  • economical and cost-cutting, due to low equipment and material costs and effort

The substrate must be dry, clean and grease-free. Loose particles, defective concrete and plaster as well as cracks and holes must be repaired in advance.

BORNIT® Silo Primer is manufactured ready for use and must be stirred up prior to processing!

approx. 0.2 l/m² (depending on the absorbency of the substrate, the consumption can vary up or down, resp.).
