BORNIT® Slurry SF
wall | foundation | mineral slurry | sealing | waterproof

- rigid, cement-bound sealing slurry
- for sealing water tanks
- sealing of interior cellar walls (negative side)
- with capillary blocking and crystallizing substances
- for vertical and horizontal surfaces
- waterproof after drying
- environmentally friendly as it is solvent-free
- permeable to vapor diffusion
- combined waterproofing: approx. 1.5 kg/m² (1 coat)
- negative-side waterproofing: min. 3 kg/m² (2 coats)
- store dry, in closed rooms
- in originally sealed containers storable for 12 months
Sealing with BORNIT® Slurry SF must only be applied to building structures, where any formation of cracks is not to be expected.
The rigid seal achieves good resistance to chemical and mechanical stresses. BORNIT® Slurry SF is free from soda and chlorides and is sulphate resistant.
- waterproof after drying out
- environmentally friendly as it is solvent-free
- vapor diffusion tight
- easy to process
- mineral substrate for subsequent products
- safe protection also against pressing water for negative and positive side
Mixing:
Mix BORNIT® Slurry SF with clean tap water into a smooth, spreadable compound. The powder is added to the water in portions under stirring.
Mixing ratio:
Mix the 25 kg bag contents with approx. 8 l of tap water.
or
Mix the 25 kg bag contents with approx. 6 l of tap water plus 1-2 kg of BORNIT® Stick Emulsion.
Adding BORNIT® Stick Emulsion to the mixing water increases the water retention capacity and prevents burning up of the slurry in warm weather.
To achieve a consistency tailored to the applicator, up to 1.0 liter of clean tap water can be added to the mixture.
Application:
Apply the slurry with a wide, firm brush onto the plaster or concrete in at least 2 coats. Between applications of the individual coats, at least 3 hours, at most 6 hours should pass.
The provisions of DIN 1045 must be complied with, i.e. avoidance of heat, frost and strong wind during execution and at least 24 hours thereafter. Keeping the applied layer moist can be omitted, when at least 15 % of BORNIT® Stick Emulsion were added to the mixing water.
Combined waterproofing:
BORNIT® Slurry SF can be applied directly under thick bitumen coatings (BORNIT® 1C and 2C Thick Bitumen Coating, BORNIT® Profi 1C Express, BORNIT® 2C Flex Thick Bitumen Coating, BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C, BORNIT® Mineral Flex 2C). This pre-treatment reduces the risk of blistering in the polymer-modified thick coating on porous substrates and excludes the risk of water ingress at problematic wall/floor connections. Apply BORNIT® Slurry SF directly onto the fully grouted and void-free masonry. After a drying period of min. 24 hours, the thick bitumen coating is applied.
Negative-side waterproofing:
Brittle, loose joints must be cleaned and closed flush with the surface with BORNIT® Sealing Mortar. Following thorough hardening of BORNIT® Sealing Mortar, the surface to be waterproofed is primed with BORNIT® Basic Primer (consumption: min. 120 g/m², for highly absorbent substrates up to 250 g/m²). After a waiting period of at least 30 minutes, the first coating with BORNIT® Slurry SF is applied (consumption: 1.5 kg/m²). The second waterproofing layer of BORNIT® Slurry SF is applied after approx. 30 to 60 minutes (when the first layer of the waterproofing cannot be damaged by the application of the second layer anymore). Here, consumption likewise amounts to 1.5 kg/m². Final bonding takes place with a last application of BORNIT® Basic Primer (consumption: min. 250 g/m²).
Post-treatment:
The applied slurry should be protected from strong winds, direct sunlight, frost, and moisture.
negative-side waterproofing: min. 3 kg/m² (2 coats)
