BORNIT^® Joint Tape CSA is suitable for new construction and refurbishment of asphalt road surfaces, such as:
• the longitudinal connection of parallel traffic lanes
• bonding with lateral connections and attachments
• connection to curbs and gutters
• transverse and longitudinal connections new to old in utility trench construction
• connection between existing and new top layer
• connection to roadway installations, such as channel covers, valve and hydrant covers,
• road drains
• closure of cracks and repairs of small areas

BORNIT^® Joint Tape CSA is always used when seams or connections are produced in top layers of asphalt concrete, mastic asphalt as well as stone mastic asphalt.

type and properties

BORNIT^® Joint Tape CSA is a polymer-modified, bituminous cold self-adhesive joint tape for asphalt road construction.
The unilaterally applied special adhesive guarantees easy, fast and secure application. With the adhesive coating, the tape is fixedly attached to the joint flank without flame heating.
BORNIT^® Joint Tape CSA has been tested according to ZTV Fug-StB 15.

processing

Free the vertical and straight joint edges and roadway installations from adhering dirt or rust, if applicable. Unroll BORNIT^® Joint Tape CSA, cut it to length and press it onto the contact surface with its adhesive side using a flat tool or by hand. At the corner points of an opening, the tape is blunted. The secure connection of the joint tape between old and new asphalt is supported by the asphalt mix to be applied hot. The tape must be installed with a protrusion of approx. 5 mm (flush for mastic asphalt) above road level. Following insertion of the hot mix, the protrusion of the joint tape is rolled to obtain a smooth surface. If the asphalt delivered should not have the necessary application temperature, this may also affect the seam connection! In order to achieve an even better flank adhesion, e.g. in case of contaminated and dusty substrates, priming with BORNIT^® Hot Compound Primer or BORNIT^® Hot Compound Primer Fix is recommended.

The product can be stored for 12 months. Store cool and dry! Protect boxes against moisture, direct solar irradiation and heat!

disposal note

Material residues can be disposed of according to AVV-ASN: 170302 (bitumen mixtures, except for those falling under 170301).
