Type and properties
BORNIT® Alu-Tape is a self-adhesive and cold workable sealing tape. The aluminium foil is surface-coated, UV-resistant and therefore has good mechanical stability.
The coating compound consists of elastomer-bitumen and high-quality adhesive resins.

Advantages
- ready to use
- high adhesive strength
- versatile
Surface
The surfaces to be sealed must be dry, grease- and silicone-free as well as abrasion-resistant.
Processing
Porous substrate should be primed with BORNIT® Bitumen Primer in order to achieve optimal adhesion. The most favourable processing temperature lies between +5 °C and +45 °C (ambient or surface temperature, resp.). Following application, BORNIT® Alu-Tape must be firmly pressed on. The formation of voids (blistering) must be avoided. If several strips must be applied, they must overlap by at least 50 mm.
Substrates with pedestrian or vehicle traffic, resp., are not suitable for application.
