Areas of application
BORNIT® Basement Primer is used as a bonding agent for priming the substrate for all subsequently applied 1- and 2-component BORNIT® Thick Bitumen Coatings (1C, 2C, Profi 1C, Profi 2C). BORNIT® Basement Primer adheres well to concrete, masonry, plaster and all other substrates common in construction.
BORNIT® Basement Primer is not suitable as a primer under BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C.
BORNIT® Basement Primer is not suitable as a primer under BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C.
Type and properties
BORNIT® Basement Primer is a spreadable and sprayable, very quick-drying primer based on a solvent-free, polymer-modified bitumen emulsion.
Advantages
- quick-drying, thus no time delay for subsequent work
- high penetrating capability into the substrate and good dust binding properties
- extra-thin consistency for optimal thorough drying of the thick coating
- easiest handling, since manufactured ready for use
- solvent-free and environmentally friendly

Surface
The substrate must be clean and grease-free. Loose particles, damaged concrete and plaster as well as cracks and holes must be repaired in advance.
Processing
BORNIT® Basement Primer must not be applied at ambient and object temperatures below +5 °C. The product is manufactured ready for use. Stir up briefly, if necessary.
Consumption
approx. 0.2 l/m² (depending on the absorbency of the substrate, consumption can vary up or down, resp.).
