Areas of application
BORNIT® Glass Fabric 165 is used as a reinforcing insert for waterproofing building structures with all BORNIT® Thick Bitumen Coatings (PMBC). Use of a system-tested reinforcing insert for waterproofing of building structures is mandatory according to DIN 18533 W2.1-E and W3-E.
Type and properties
BORNIT® Glass Fabric 165 is an alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh according to ETAG 004.
Advantages
- manufactured ready for use
- short installation times
- easy to handle
- low amount of work
Processing
For waterproofing of water impact classes W2.1-E and W3-E, in principle, BORNIT® Glass Fibre Mesh 165 must be embedded into the freshly applied first waterproofing layer. The mesh must not be pressed in down to the substrate. At the mesh joints, an overlap of at least 10 cm must be provided.
Before applying the second waterproofing layer, the first layer must be dry enough not to be damaged.
Before applying the second waterproofing layer, the first layer must be dry enough not to be damaged.
